Vermilion Parish’s only music festival enters its seventh year with an impressive two-day lineup.
ABBEVILLE, LOUISIANA. October 31, 2022–In a few weeks, Cow Island LIVE! Music Festival will kick off its seventh year under the oaks on Friday, November 18th, 2022.
The outdoor festival has been a Saturday-only event in its first five years. Still, due to the popularity of the outdoor camping option, festivalgoers wanted to extend their time in the country setting. This will be the second year in a row the festival welcomes tent campers to attend Friday through Sunday.
Friday night, the gates open at 6:00 pm, and live music kicks off at 6:30 pm with Blake Luquette. The festival’s opening night local band lineup includes The Bucks at 7:45 pm and Jaryd Lane at 9:00 pm. Friday festival goers will enjoy concessions from the 3 Bros Cooking Team. Friday night campers will be treated to complimentary breakfast on Saturday morning provided on-site by Village Deaux.
Another bonus for campers will be a Saturday morning Songwriter’s Brunch at 10:00 am featuring a special song-share showcase with Michael Scott Boudreaux, K.C. Jones, Sarah Russo, and Dustin Gaspard.
Saturday gates open at 11:30 am, with Lache Pas Fiddlers kicking things off. This pilot program in Vermilion Parish comprises 7th and 8th-grade students from Rene Rost Middle School in Kaplan. The program focuses on preserving and promoting our French heritage, language, and music.
The rest of Saturday’s line-up includes local musicians, bands, and acts from as far as Michigan and Texas. With eleven acts, Saturday will be a jam-packed day filled with music and food, including a Cochon de Lait. This year touts two headlining acts, including the Grammy Award Winning Lost Bayou Ramblers on stage at 7:50 pm & festival favorite Mike McLeod Dean at 9:30 pm.
Concession options on Saturday will consist of Jacques Camel’s famous jambalaya, BBQ burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, chips & a Cajun cuisine surprise.
